Two groups of students visited the Curve Theatre to see the amazing “Breaking Convention” show, which featured international dance groups including the Soweto Skeleton Dancers and local acts. The students got to see Little T who is on this years The Voice Kids show, sing live.
Recently some of the students went for a Fitness class taster session in Beaumont Leys. It is called Born to Move and featured a range of exercises including yoga, dance and boxing fitness. It was very enjoyable and the students certainly looked like they had worked hard when they returned! There are a variety of classes available for various ages. If you are looking for activities over the summer have a look at their website and click on “Find a class”
Students in residence have been competing in a range of challenges to earn points for their Houses. These include a range of practical and fun activities such as the hotly contested “Tidiest bedroom” or “Tallest Lego tower”
At the end of the term, we held a celebration evening to recognise the work and achievements of the students who attend residence and After School club throughout the year. Families were invited for a cream tea and got to try out for themselves some of the activities that the students do such as making a “stress sock”. Students also demonstrated some of their new skills such as cycling.
The evening finished with students challenging their parents in the “Target Olympics” which saw them compete in head to head challenges with targets such as duvet fitting and washing up.
Thank you to all of the families who attended and we look forward to repeating the event again next summer.
