Nurturing begins before a student comes to Maplewell. We deliver a comprehensive induction programme tailored to individuals needs, which enables students and their families to feel confident in their transition to the school. For those entering Year 7, classes are predominantly located in the year 7 base and for all students there is consistent support from Learning Support Assistants who stay with student throughout the day.
By understanding the individual we recognise strengths and areas for development, providing additional support where required, both academic and social. Students have access to individual or small group interventions to focus on particular areas such as communication skills, emotional literacy and personal care.
The school takes great pride and pleasure in celebrating both individual and group successes and in seeing students develop as they move up through the school.
